New ‘Open Studio’ sessions

I have my own Studio! If you have been watching the Facebook page you might have seen it transform from empty, to looking like a secondhand furniture shop, to workspace.

It was great to go down there over Christmas and spend an afternoon with the girls, making cards, decorations, and even a surprise gift stitched on Bertha, my old hand-crank Singer.

I am setting up a series of regular ‘Open Studio’ style sessions, initially running for 6 weeks from Wed 6th January to Wed 10th February inclusive.

On these days I will open my studio doors to you –

  • come and watch me work
  • bring a project with you and enjoy a chat
  • get help with a craft project
  • browse my books for some inspiration
  • learn something at your own pace
  • have a ‘taster’ of something new

Wednesdays 12 – 2.30pm

Cost £4 including tea, coffee, maybe even biscuits, and the use of some equipment (please email in advance if you want to be sure of borrowing something for the session, as I don’t keep it all at the Mill or it might be in use)

Oxheys Mill Studios

Some of the equipment I have for use: Badge-making machine, hand-crank Singer sewing machine, drop spindles for spinning, tatting shuttles, crochet hooks, knitting needles, hairpin lace looms, tunisian crochet hooks… 🙂

Please note that my studio is downstairs and is therefore not suitable for people with mobility issues. Unfortunately, due to the industrial nature and age of the building there is no lift and it’s not possible to make this event suitable for wheelchairs. Please contact me to arrange something more suitable if needed.
